Children's Hospital - QFCUH
Website : www.huderf.be
Inaugurated in 1986, the Queen Fabiola Children’s University Hospital (QFCUH) is the only Belgian academic hospital dedicated entirely to paediatric care. Children are provided with the most complete care from birth to adolescence in compliance with the Charter of Hospitalised Children’s Rights.
A medical and surgical hospital with 183 beds, the QFCUH treats all types of children’s pathological conditions and has one of the most important outpatient sectors (consultations and emergencies) in Belgium. It can also accommodate parents, either in the same room as their child, or in a guesthouse near the hospital. It also has a school for children hospitalised over a long period.
The QFCUH is an academic centre (accredited by the ULB and the VUB) with specialists in different fields of paediatrics. It is the ULB’s main centre for academic activity in paediatrics, and a venue for internships and research in children’s medical and paramedical fields. Many medical and scientific cooperation arrangements are pursued with other hospitals and universities in Belgium and abroad. It is also a hospital that is developing continuously to be able to serve and host better the families that turn to it in increasingly larger numbers.
